Die Warzau were an experimental post-industrial band formed in 1987 in Chicago. Taking inspiration from a diverse array of genres, from hip-hop and funk, to Detroit techno, they crafted a truly original, groovy brand of industrial.

Their 1994 album Engine perfectly demonstrates their distinct, groovy sound; They manage to mix the clanking metal musique concrete of traditional industrial with a particularly American hip-hop aesthetic. The Wax-Trax aesthetic is perfectly complemented by funky boom-bap drums, found-sound, and soaring saxophone arpeggios.
